Growth ( 5 of 6 Human Needs)

I am sure you heard that there is a reason behind everything we do, whether it’s conscious or unconscious. We will be exploring the Six human needs and how it affects our relationships with each other as well as in life.

Everyone has these 6 human needs. How one prioritizes the needs determines how they act.

 Are you meeting those needs in a way which is empowering or in a way which is destructive?

 If you’ve ever wondered what drives your daily life or wanted to change your path, I believe that this will be a great series to follow. If you identify with the needs, there will be an opportunity to develop significant change.

Growth:  The need to feel like we are developing, learning, strengthening, expanding, and cultivating ourselves.

Growth is a spiritual need.

For example, I created this site because I believe we all have a spiritual connection with each other.

Are you wanting to develop new skills, new ways of looking at life physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually?

If you said yes, Growth may be a need you covet most .

People by nature want to learn. Why do you think Google is so popular ? Why does the new I- phone create headlines? When we stop learning, we stagnate. ..we die.

The positive aspects of  the Growth need:

You want to develop yourself and with that you must be likely self-sufficient to learn. It cannot be forced upon you . Material possessions are ok but the growth need goes beyond material. Knowledge is prized.   You may read, take classes, participate in discussion groups to find answers.

The negative aspects of  the Growth need:

One also maybe closed-minded and feel they have all the answers to everything and may not be willing to listen to others or be challenged.

You may be seen as detached or reserved if you do not share your knowledge.

If you use growth as a way to gain only significance,  people will see through your manipulation and you will have not have a following for long. I see this at times with people trying to get people to join an MLM or a certain business model. You must be sincere.

Tyrants and terrorists may take some of their knowledge that they have acquired which may have some universal truths and manipulate people in the opposite direction for evil and degrading purposes.

In short, Growth is a spiritual need.  Growth can occur as a stage of maturation or a process toward fullness or fulfillment. Most people are on a spiritual journey especially after 40 years of age .

To convey what you have learned, you  have to be real and you have to believe in what you are saying or writing for the common good which is the last need called contribution..  

When I started creating this site,  I spend a lot of time thinking about  subjects or what products would be interesting for my readers to use that would make their life better. I asked for their input and have received excellent suggestions which brings me to next week’s final need which is

Contribution: The need to feel like we are giving, donating, leaving our mark, serving, offering and contributing to others.
